Message from Executive Officer

With Australia Next, our first member event as a new team, a digital review, and an office move to name a few, it's been another big fortnight for TPDD.

Our focus remains on highlighting tourism's vital role in our economy and developing initiatives and strategies to drive demand. Generating $742M in economic output, including $580M in direct expenditure, and over 3,000 jobs tourism is the cornerstone of our region and key success driver for multiple industries in the Shire.

Last week we capitalised on a major Virgin Australia Sale, tactically publishing Port Douglas and Daintree specific messaging linked to the promotion of flights into Cairns over November to March.

We're currently working on a review and enhancement of our digital assets to optimise our online presence. The TPDD website attracts over 200,000 visitors with 8 million search impressions containing our website content - it is a key asset for our destination with tremendous potential to drive more results and conversion.

Join us on October 8 for our workshop on export opportunities and the importance of international trade distribution to drive inbound visitation.

After the success of Australia Next in Cairns early this month, follow up is in full swing as we work to secure key business event activity to the region.
